It’s finally Friday again, so it’s time to talk about weekend plans and brunch! What have you got planned? If you are in London, nothing beats having brunch in the sky at Duck & Waffle.
Last month I took my parents there for Sunday brunch, as it’s my new mission in life to make sure everyone I know tries Duck & Waffle at least once! :) I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love it and most people tend to go back regularly.
What’s not to love about delicious and original dishes, brilliant service with a staff that makes you feel like a special guest, and stunning views?
Duck & Waffle could get away with just the location and still be fully booked, but the truth is they are very serious about food, with a menu that is updated regularly to keep it seasonal and attractive for returning customers.
I have eaten at D&W for breakfast a few times and for dinner once; every time I’ve had a great experience. The restaurant is elegant, but not formal and there isn’t a dress code. I tend to dress up whenever I eat there just because it’s the kind of place you go to for a special occasion and dressing up for it is part of the fun.
I love Duck & Waffles’ Ox Cheek Doughnuts (from the All Day menu) so this time I tried the Ox Cheek Benedict breakfast dish: braised ox cheek, 63 degree organic hens eggs, hollandaise sauce and sriracha.
The star of the day was the Full Elvis Belgian Waffle that my husband ordered: peanut butter & jelly, bananas brûlée, Chantilly cream, fresh berries and chocolate chips.
Waffles are obviously the signature dish of the restaurant, so make sure you try them (from the all day menu, the Duck & Waffle dish is a must).
If you have never been to Duck & Waffle, then book a table now! I like to go there for breakfast during the week, when the restaurant is not full and you can usually get the best tables.
I hope you will go and help me fulfill my new life mission!
[…] I have already written about it three times: my first visit for breakfast on my birthday, Sunday brunch with my parents and a special visit to taste their dosant last summer. But I cannot refrain myself […]
Ahhh, this place has been on my must-visit list for a while now and your post just confirms it. All the food looks amazing!
I’m going in 2 weeks! Made the reservation a long, long time ago but it’s now finally going to happen. I’ve been upstairs once to get a dosant, so I can’t wait to finally try their brunch menu. That waffle looks amazing! Anything else I should try?
Thank you! Please make sure you book D&W months in advance if you want to go at peak times, like the dinners or weekends!
Wow that place looks amazing! I have to put it in my list of places to go for the next time I will travel to London :) As always the photos are beautiful, I like how they tell a story and it’s so easy and natural to follow it.
Thank you! Make sure you book D&W months in advance if you want to go at peak times, like the dinners or weekends!
