Goodbye summer, hello winter. The weather in London has taken a cold turn and the hot days of summer already feel like a long time ago. To remind myself of summer I decided to create my Dream Magnum, inspired by the bespoke ice cream I made at the Magnum Pleasure Store in London in July. Read the full post to discover how easy it is to create a decadent Dream Magnum ice cream at home!
Following the success of their London pop-up store, Magnum Ice Cream have developed a concept called Dream Magnum. They have created a gallery of delicious Magnum creations as well as how-to videos to inspire you to create your own Dream Magnum.
As part of this concept, I was challenged to create a bespoke ice-cream and film the recipe in a video. There are few things I love as much as chocolate and ice cream, so of course I was up for the challenge! You can watch my video here, I hope you’ll like it.
Creating my Dream Magnum at home was easy and fun. I chose a classic chocolate Magnum ice-cream, topped with pistachios, bronze sprinkles and sugar nibs; drizzled with dark and white chocolate.
I enjoyed the preparation (and the ice cream!) so much, I am now considering throwing a “Dream Magnum Making Party” for my friends. What do you say? I think it’s a fabulous idea! All you need is a bowl of melted chocolate and your favourite toppings. In just a few easy steps you can create a luxury dessert for your dinner party.
Break the chocolate and place into a heatproof bowl. Sit over a pan of barely simmering water (a bain marie) and allow the chocolate to melt, stirring occasionally.
Take the ice-cream out of the freezer and place on a serving plate.
Swirl a spoonful of melted chocolate on the top side of the ice-cream.
Sprinkle the toppings, then drizzle the remaining melted chocolate on top (you can use a different one if you want to mix dark and white chocolate like I did).
Serve your Dream Magnum immediately or store in the freezer for another day.
